Zivah sighed as she walked towards the Frozen Custard stand. Ever since her friend Lola had made her try one of their frozen custards she couldn't stop coming everyday to have some. She smiled at the person selling and ordered her favorite. She paid and went to sit on a bench near by. She took the first bite and savored the taste.
Zivah remembered the first day she had the custard well. Her friend had been dragging her around all day, shopping, and checking out guys. They were passing the stand when her friend squealed. "Lets, get some Frozen Custard!!" Lola said as she dragged Zivah into the line of people craving the irresistible custard. "Oh, I don't know Lola, I kindof want to get home we have to many things to carry." protested Zivah as she tried to steer her friend away. But of course they where cought up in the line. a few minutes later they where sitting on a bench devouring their frozen custard. "I told you." said Lola as they threw away their cups. Zivah only laughed she had to admit that was the best frozen custard ever.
Zivah took another bite looking at the line of people. She recognized some people who came but there where always new people coming by and discovering the frozen custard. Zivahs grey-blue eyes glinted in the sunlight as her eyes scanned her suroundings, it had been only three months since her birthday and already she was starting to be more cautious. Enymies could be lurking anywhere. She crossed and uncrossed her legs trying to look normal. ever since she first discovered her wings she had felt that everyone could see through her disguise, see what she really was. Some probably did know because they where the same thing she was. She lowered her eyes and took another bite of her custard, she wasted no time savoring this bite as her cell phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID it was her sister. "Hello?" she asked dully as she flipped her cell open. "Hey, mom wants to know if you have anything planned tonight, she wants to take us out to dinner." replied her sister as dully as Zivah had answered. "Why doesn't she just call herself?" Zivah asked trying not to sound condescending. Her mother always seemed to loose electronic devices. "You know mom she lost her cell phone again." Zivah laughed and so did her sister, their mother was hopeless more often then not the cell phone was somewhere easy to find, like in a purse or on the desk under papers. "Ok, yea i don't have anything planned yet so tell her its a maybe, I'll talk to you later." and without waiting for her sisters goodbye she hung up.
Zivah's eyes once again began to scan around a few new people had gotten in line though no one was looking her way. the benches where all full except for hers, someone could always come and sit down next to her. She took another bite and texted her friend Arianna, telling her that their slumber party plans would have to be moved to tomorrow night since her mom liked to have the family stay up late after dinner and play board games. When Zivah was younger she could always ask why they had to play stupid kids games and her mom would always reply by telling her that everyonce in a while she liked to have to family together to spend quality time. Now that she was older Zivah realized that her mom felt disconected from her daughters, since both where half angel her mom felt that she didn't connect with her daughters the way their father did, her mom just wanted to feel apart of their everyday drama of being a Nephilim, even though it would be a few years for her sister to get her wings, her sister already knew about the dangers and was starting to get peranoid about it.
Zivah took another bite and looked down at her cup, it was half empty, and this was about then time when Zivah debated wether or not she should get another one. It took a few more bites before Zivah decided one cup wasn't enough and she got back in line. It took a few minutes to get to the front since some old guy had a hard time deciding what he wanted but when she finally did get there she got her cup and returned to her bench. This cup she would savor because she had nothing else to do today anyway why not waste a few more minutes here, at least that would take time away from the hours she would probably be bored.
Your dog is adorable. A voice off to the side of me said. I gave a glance her direction, a pretty blond holding the hand of a little boy in her hand. I gave a nod and then she asked if her son could pet him. I gave a glance downwards to my anxious Great dane mix who was eager to get walking. I shrugged my shoulders lightly, ”Nah he doesn't bite. He's just been cooped up all day.” Polietly she ducked her head and said they wouldn't take long and then asked his name. ”Hamlet. He's Great Dane and some sort of hound.” She commented on how again on how cute he was and he was beautiful and I just grinned as her son touched Hamlet's back. He stood there, allowing the boy to get a few good pats and then started his pacing. The woman grabbed her son and they stepped back stating their thanks and I nodded, pulling my sunglasses down from my head and onto the bridge of my nose to hide my greenish blue eyes. A grin crossed my features giving her one last look back before continuing on with our walk. I swear, sometimes, dogs were like kids. A girl sees them, especially if their dog lovers, and simply have to talk to you. Ah but that girl back there had a son and I wasn't looking for anything other then to just hang around. Because lets face it, I'm young and to me, sex is just sex. To women in order to get in their pants they think its part of a relationship. Though I admit, I wasn't looking and window shopping today. Since the thing with Juno, I was flying solo and keeping it clean. She used me thats for sure but in a way, I didn't really mind. I got what I wanted out of it even if she did tug on my emotions a bit. I held firmly onto the black leash in my head, he strutting that manly doggy strut, his jaws parted and tongue hanging out the side of his jowls. I was just playing it casual, stepping heavily, faded holy jeans, dark grey tank, and sun glasses. However I still manage to get a few peoples attention with my overly tall and large dog.
Not only am I an a man whore but an attention whore. I love all eyes on me, I'm competitive, I like to think I am suave, and intelligent. Though there are down falls to me. Not only am I good with showing a girl a good time, doing whatever it is that pleases my ladies but I'm a bit clumsy. I made breathing look difficult. I tripped over air and stumble, at least one of us could look good. Hamlet luckily made up that for me. Today was just a pretty day, the sun was shinning, it's warm, and just feels good to be out. After meeting Mia, I can't help but feel some sort of tug on me to her. Its odd, can't quite figure out why, but none the less I hadn't seen her in a few days. I felt completely embarrassed with what had happened and just kinda made me want to hang my head in shame. She made me an utter fool, talking in utter riddles, stuttering, and tripping. It was awkward with how she made me feel and yet at the same time I enjoyed it. Wait- I enjoyed being made a fool? See what I mean! She confuses me. Urgh, forget it Damian, probably won't ever see her again anyways. Though this pull deep in my core was telling me I was going to whether I liked it or not. Was it attraction? Well, I was attracted but it felt more of a need, a must, and if I didn't I was going to go insane. ”Hold up buddy.” I said, pulling on the leash connected to the choker but Hamlet kept trying to pull and keep going. I yanked backwards and he gave a coughing choked sound. ”Well... Don't pull against me.” I said calmly to him. I rose my eyes upwards looking a crossed the street to the small little frozen custard stand. ”now thats what I am talking about.” A slick grin crossed my face and when it was our turn to go, I stepped off the curb, Hamlet trotting and prancing off to the side of me.
Nothing better then frozen custard on a hot and humid day. I swaggered up there with my masculine grace, stepping up onto the curb though nearly running into some one with a pull of Hamlet on the leash. He was after some girl who went walking towards the bench and sitting down. She was a skinny thing, average maybe but lean, brown hair and pretty light colored eyes, blue from what I could tell but we were far away from each other. She seemed to be about ready to talk on the phone or was putting it away, Hell, I wasn't paying much attention and truly didn't care much. Not my business. With a tug on his leash I dragged him the opposite direction and he gave a whine and yip before trotting after me. I followed in line like the rest of the people, glancing down at Hamlet who was still keenly watching that girl. I was a little confused on the subject and gave a small nudge to him. His mixed matched, blue and brown eyes looked up at me, stopping his panting for a second before drawing his head down and looking back down at her. Moments later it was our turn to end up in the front of the line, I ordered, grabbed my cup and Hamlet was persistent in going towards the girl when we were walking. His nose twitched, tail wagging as he nosed her leg. ”Seems to like you.” I said taking a bite of custard and pulling him away. I gave a small grin looking down at my cup as he remained panting, tail wagging back and forth. ”My names Damian and this is lug head next to me is Hamlet. I said, feeling rude as my dog just automatically was trying to jump all over her. Like he knew something that I didn't. I took a few more bites before offering a smile once more and motioning to the open seat next to her. ”Mind if we sit here with you?” If she said no, we could probably just keep walking. Hamlet might not like it which I still find odd how he immediately took to her so rightly but whatever. She was probably waiting on someone any how.
Zivah saw them from affar. Or rather she saw the dog first. He was huge but very handsome, he looked like a great dane but she couldn't tell from this far away. Then she saw his owner, he looked to be talking to his dog, cute. They waited for the light but she could see that the dog just wanted to go go go. She smiled to herself, she understood the dog. They crossed the street and she and the dog looked straight at eachother. Zivah looked away quickly knowing that some dogs hated eye contact. Looking through her lashes she saw that the dog was intently watching her. She shifted in her seat trying to concentrate on her treat but she could still feel the dogs eyes boring into her.
She was startled when she felt the dog nudge her. Well at least he was friendly. She smiled at his owner as he introduced himself and his dog. Damian and Hamlet, again cute. "Hi, my names Zivah," She smiled and scratched Hamlet right behind his ear, it made her want a dog more then ever. of course that would never happen with her parents all uptight about dogs, they let her do anything but they would never let her get a dog. "Of course you can sit down, I don't mind at all." she said with another smile. Hamlet was panting and looking very pleased. "You are very ëáôñåõôüò (adorable in greek)" She said to the dog speaking in greek, and smiled this dog was past adorable, he was beautiful, with his blue and brown eyes, and Great Dane fitures but now that he was up close she could tell he wasn't 100% Great Dane, there looked to be some kind of hound maybe mixed in. She turned her attention from Hamlet to Damian, though she had wanted to be alone, she didn't mind having the pair here, they where interesting. "What's your favorite flavor?" She asked trying to keep the conversation light and comfortable, her phone buzzed and she checked it quickly finding it unimportant she slipped her phone back into her pocket she didn't want to be rude. She shifted a little so she was facing towards Damian, her mother had always said that men like to have as much attention as possible and Zivah didn't feel like making enemies today. "My favorite is Strawberrie." she smiled again, still petting Hamlet though her attention was still on Damian. She studied him for a few moments. Even though he had sunglasses on you could see he had lighter colored eyes, and somewhat muscled with brown hair, he wasn't plain but he wasn't too flashy though you could tell that he liked attention. She smiled again and took another bite of her custard, happy that she had decided to get another one if she hadn't she wouldn't have met them.
